What does Borrowstyle do?
It reads the design of the website you are looking at: fonts, colours, sizes, spacing, corners, shadows, buttons and other parts. Then it turns that into files and prompts your AI coding tool, Figma or your own code can use.
Which AI tools does it work with?
Copy for AI has ready formats for Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, v0, Lovable and Bolt. The DESIGN.md file works with any tool that reads text.
Is it free?
Yes. Reading sites, picking parts, colours, fonts, Copy for AI and the basic developer pack are free. Pro unlocks the bigger tools like Make it yours, component code and Check my build: $5 a month, or $39 once.
Is Pro a subscription?
You choose. Pro Monthly is $5 a month and you can cancel anytime. Pro Lifetime is $39 once and yours to keep, with every future Pro update. Both work in Chrome on Mac and Windows.
Does anything leave my computer?
No page content is sent to us. Borrowstyle runs only when you click, on the tab you are looking at, and what it captures stays in your browser. The only network call is checking a Pro licence key, if you have one.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login in the extension.
Can I copy another company's brand with it?
Use it to learn and to get the feel right, not to copy logos, images, text or paid fonts. When a font is paid, Borrowstyle suggests a similar free font.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and other Chromium browsers on Mac and Windows, such as Edge, Brave and Arc.
When can I install it?
It is in final testing now. Join the early-access list and we will email you once, when it is on the Chrome Web Store.
How accurate is it?
It measures what the browser renders, including real hover states and light and dark themes. Before each release it is tested against real websites.
